Christian Volunteer Movement
Steve Hewko is the Executive Director of Christian Volunteer Movement. We in NWMC have a special connection to Steve as his father, Roy Hewko, previously pastored our Church in Bluesky.
Christian Volunteer Movement is a Christian sending organization. CVM partners with missionaries from many Christian organizations around the world, sending volunteers to work alongside long-term missionaries. Through these partnerships they hope to strengthen existing ministies and provide long-term impact for short-term volunteers.
If you have a skill you would like to use overseas, CVM can link you with missionaries working in that field. CVM also has a program that operates much like a time-share. People with similar skills enter into a co-op together. Every month each member gives a certain amount of money into a co-op fund. This in turn allows them to send one of the members on a missions trip for a month. Each month a differnt co-op member goes. This is beneficial to missionaries as it guarantees them a worker year round and also great for people based in North America who want missions experience.
